Over the long weekend Venus Williams yet again entertained the crowds with her on court fashion at the US Open.

On Friday, the tennis star wore a very sheer and very short black dress, if you can call it that, with crystal accents.

Then on Sunday, she wore the same style outfit in magenta that was embellished in different colored crystals.

Serena Gets Bazaar

Serena Williams is in the August issue of Harper's Bazaar looking absolutely gorgeous!

The less dramatic dresser of the Williams sisters also spoke to the mag about her body image and beauty. Here's what she had to say:

On her body image:

"I was 23 when I realized that I wasn't Venus. She's totally different. I'm super curvy. I have big boobs and this massive butt. She's tall and she's like a model and she fits everything. I was growing up, wanting to be her, wanting to look like her, and I was always fitting in her clothes, but then one day I couldn't. But it's fine. Now I'm obviously good, but it's a weird thing. . . . To this day, I don't love my arms. People want more fit arms, but my arms are too fit. But I'm not complaining. They pay my bills."

On beauty:

"Since I don't look like every other girl, it takes a while to be okay with that. To be different. But different is good. I feel so much sexier with short hair. I wanted to reach inside me and feel better. I don't want to hide behind a facade of hair."

Sounds like a very down to earth lady! And good for her for admitting she's not perfect.

And the fun fashion continues!

Venus Williams debuted yet another fancy tennis outfit from her line EleVen on the Wimbledon courts Monday.

The tennis superstar said of her ensemble:

"My dress was inspired by Tina Turner. It still has a lace motif and I think it's just a fun, elegant dress. Here it's all about white. There is no illusion this time. I love Tina Turner. Obviously, she's just an amazing, amazing artist, just a survivor. She reinvented herself. Plus she looks great. I've loved her forever. So the dress is really inspired by her."

We like it!

Venus Talks About Her On Court Fashion

Filed Under: Fashion Smashion Zportz Venus Williams

ap100515112934_e.jpg

Tennis star Venus Williams has been getting a lot of eyebrow raises when it comes to her fashion on the court.

In a recent interview, V dished on the how the outfits for her line EleVen come about. The ballsy dresser explains:

"During the design process I'm nervous about, okay, is that going to move and get in the way of my racquet? So when the dress comes and it doesn't, then I'm excited…I try to represent what I think my personality is on the court. The second part is sometimes you just dream it up. Sometimes you can see a dress and say, Hey, I really like those slits, so let me put that in my tennis dress. Or I'm dying to do lace. How can we do that on the court and make it work?"

Speaking of lace, she even touched on that risqué outfit that caused a commotion off the court during the French Open:

"Lace has never been done before in tennis, and I've been wanting to do it for a long time. So finally, you know, I've done lace. It's fun to wear, obviously. For me, it's fun to design something that seems to be so successful."

At least she's willing to take risks and make the game more visually inneresting. Can't knock her for that!
