Designer Zac Posen thinks very highly of himself. And we think that's putting it nicely.
While attending an event in New York, Zac ran into the Harper's Bazaar editor Glenda Bailey and asked her why the mag wasn't featuring his clothes, but wanted him to be featured in their September issue spread that included big name designers posing with Sesame Street characters.
However, Posen being the egotistical designer that he is declined:
"I didn’t want to model with the Count. She said that was the only way my clothes could be in the magazine as a non-advertiser. I think she was surprised I wouldn’t take the part, but I stood my ground and I still do."
Perhaps Zac hasn't heard of the phrase "beggars can't be choosers".
While Posen declines free press, his label entered what he calls "survival mode" after investors cut funding and two top execs peaced out from the label.
Good luck with that.

While Katy Perry looked lovely this past weekend at the Grammys in her nude Zac Posen dress, it seems she wans't the only hottie sporting the same look.
On the February 2010 cover of Harper's Bazaar Korea, Chloe Sevigny is featured in the same Posen dress!
And both ladies are looking gorgeous.
So we have to ask, who do U think wore it best?

Billionaire Burkle Angles and his investment firm Yucaipa Cos. have offered to put down another $50 million toward the department store's debt, which in turn would give him an 80% stake in the company. The remaining 20% would still go to the current owner Istithmar World Capital.
In a proposal sent in December, Burkle claimed that with the investment they would draw in other luxury partnerships to the retailer such as specialty fashion retailer Scoop, designer label Zac Posen and London-based jewelry designer Stephen Webster.
However, a person close to the Istithmar World says they aren't entertaining Angles' offer.
What!? Why???
CFO Vince Phelan boasts "Our holiday performance exceeded our expectations, and Barneys remains cautiously optimistic for 2010. As was the case before David Jackson's departure from our parent company, no financial restructuring of the company is imminent."
Hopefully they won't regret their choice in a couple of months.

This is major!
The complete lookbook for Zac Posen's collection for Target has been released and we're very pleased to bring you a sneak peak at some of the highlights. Let's just say we're a-lookin' and we're a-likin'.
Not surprisingly, the collection features a number of adorable dresses, as well as bathing suits, cardigans, jackets, skirts, shorts, tops and pants. He even threw in an affordable suit!
We're obsessed with the flouncy navy blue mini dress and the long patterned maxi (love the hem!). The purple full skirted dress and the tiger print sailer dress are dynamite, and the tuxedo jacket is stunning. Posen has managed to make an affordable diffusion line that looks expensive and chic. Every piece looks Zac Posen - it's truly Posen for less.
We're really amped about this. We'd venture to say it's our favorite guest designer range for Target to date.
Sadly, you'll have to wait until April 25th (seems so far!) before you can take any of the pretty pieces home, but you can check out the entire lookbook here, thanks to our friends over at Fashionista.
Do you love the collection as much as we do?
If not, who designed your favorite collection for Target?

He's on a roll!
On top of his lower priced sportswear collection Z Spoke, Zac Posen will also be designing for Target!!!
But don't get Zac's collaboration confused with other designers such as Alexander McQueen or Jean Paul Gaultier because Posen's collection will be under Target's Go International series.
You can snatch up Posen's affordable wear starting April 25th next year.
Will U be buying Zac Posen's Target collection???
