QVC has a very angry Jane Fonda on their hands!
The 71 year old actress was supposed to promote her new memoir Prime Time on Saturday, but was axed from the schedule because QVC feared viewer boycotts.
After getting the news, Jane immediately took to her blog to blast the shopping channel:
I was to have been on QVC today to introduce my book, “Prime Time,” about aging and the life cycle. The network said they got a lot of calls yesterday criticizing me for my opposition to the Vietnam War and threatening to boycott the show if I was allowed to appear. I am, to say the least, deeply disappointed that QVC caved to this kind of insane pressure by some well funded and organized political extremist groups. And that they did it without talking to me first. I have never shied away from talking about this as I have nothing to hide. I could have pointed out that threats of boycotts are nothing new for me and have never prevented me from having best selling books and exercise DVDs, films, and a Broadway play. Most people don’t buy into the far right lies. Many people have reached out to express how excited they were about my going onto QVC and hearing about my book.
Bottom line, this has gone on far too long, this spreading of lies about me! None of it is true. NONE OF IT! I love my country. I have never done anything to hurt my country or the men and women who have fought and continue to fight for us. I do not understand what the far right stands to gain by continuing with these myths. In this case, they denied a lot of people the chance to hear about a book that can help make life better, easier and more fulfilling. I am deeply grateful for all of the support I have been getting since this happened, including from my Vietnam Veterans friends.
QVC eventually released a statement, saying: "It’s not unusual to have a schedule change with our shows and guests with little or no notice."
Way to pussyfoot around the issue.

Jackie Genovese, a 16-year-old sophomore from New Jersey, was planning on attending prom with her 17-year-old boyfriend of two years, James Volpe.
Jackie purchased a pricey $1,200 prom dress from Freehold's Diane and Co., popular from Oxygen’s show Dress Coutoure.
Unfortunately for all involved, James was killed in a car crash on May 13th heading home from a baseball team dinner. Jackie’s mom went back to the store and requested a refund so she could help pay for the funeral.
Instead, the store’s policies don’t offer refunds, but they did offer her store credit which wasn’t good enough for Jackie’s mom. Furthermore, she claims when she arrived to return the dress, they were “nasty and unsympathetic.”
As for the store, they deny ever being rude and stated:
“This terrible tragic situation has been spun out of control. It's not a matter of being vicious or uncompassionate, but we are faced with tragedy all the time. And we weren't given a chance to rectify the situation."
The store also offered to make a donation to a memorial set up in James' name, though that wasn't good enough for one friend who started a Facebook page asking for everyone to boycott the store.
We understand the circumstances are awful, but really, there’s no way for the store to know if the dress was worn before or not. And while we hope many people wouldn’t do this, but what’s to stop other people from going and fabricating a death story to get a full refund?
What do U think….
Should the store has issued a full refund?

Remember all the dramz that went down after cosmetic surgeon Vicki Belo revealed that 18 year old singer Charice Pempengco got botox for her Glee debut???
Now Argee Guevarra, a lawyer and political activist in the Philippines, is asking people to boycott Belo Medical Clinics, Flawless Clinics and all Belo products for the surgeon acting so irresponsibly.
Guevarra blasted Vicki Belo, saying:
"All Filipinos should be outraged at Belo’s medical irresponsibility after she recommended a Thermage to Miss Charice Pempengco: that her naturally-round face is not acceptable to the world. This is the height of Dr. Belo’s blatant insult to the Filipinos who have been struggling to fight discrimination here and abroad."
He also claims Belo "is neither a duly-certified surgeon recognized by the Philippine College of Surgeons nor a duly-certified member of the Philippine Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons".
Yikes!
Now that IS irresponsible!
In addition to the boycott Guevarra will also be asking Congress to start an inquiry on how doctors can perform these procedures as cosmetic surgeons despite being properly certified.

Looks like 2010 has been a good year so far for hottie Olivia Wilde.
The 26-year-old was voted the Sexiest Actress of 2010 by Victoria's Secret. And now, she's received yet another award for her sexiness.
PETA has named Wilde their Sexiest Vegetarian of 2010.
According to PETA:
"Animal lover and activist Olivia Wilde proves that being vegan helps one shine from the inside out. She has saved lives on Fox's hit show House and has saved the lives of animals off-screen by choosing a vegan diet. Going vegan saves the lives of about 100 animals a year!"
As for Olivia, she's just as excited, adding:
"Beyond my desire to boycott the torture factories, I am also way happier when I eat a plant based diet, and I feel about a thousand times more energetic."
Congrats!

He's on a mission!
After successfully boycotting Hugo Boss at the Oscars, Danny Glover is stepping up his battle against the fashion house by protesting with the soon to be ex-employees of the Cleveland, Ohio factory today.
Good luck!
