The people in the UK really don't like fragrance ads, do they?
Britain's Advertising Standards Agency has yanked Yves Saint Laurent's Belle d'Opium fragrance commercial after a whopping 13 people complained about it.
The baker's dozen that had nothing better to do but call and complain said actress Melanie Thierry's actions "simulated drug use".
The ASA ultimately ruled that the commercial "could be seen to simulate the effect of drugs on the body" and "could be seen to simulate the injection of opiates into the body".
Seriously!?
YSL obviously wasn't too happy with their decision and issued the following statement:
"YSL Beauté is disappointed that the ASA has upheld the small number of complaints about this advertisement for Belle d’Opium. The advertisement was not intended to make any reference to drug culture, but to promote the sensuality and seductive qualities of the fragrance in keeping with the Opium brand, which was launched by Yves Saint Laurent over 30 years ago. Nonetheless, when the ASA told YSL that there had been some complaints about the advertisement, YSL, as a responsible advertiser, amended the advertisement in order to avoid any possible misinterpretation."

Japanese discount chain Don Quijote Co came under attack after a Los Angeles based Jewish rights organization discovered they were selling Nazi party costumes.
The Simon Wiesenthal Center fired off an angry letter asking the company to remove the so called "party" costumes after members spotted them on sale in Japan.
The letter read:
"Nazi Germany carried out a genocidal campaign against the Jewish people during World War II. Six million innocent Jews and millions of other innocents were murdered by the Nazis, including 1.5 million children. In December 2010 Nazism is not dead and the swastika is still deployed as a symbol of hatred against all “non-Aryans” including Asians."
Aico, the company that makes the $60 black jacket and swastika armband, claims they’ve been selling the uniforms for 7 years and have never received a complaint.
A rep from the company told the press:
"This was meant purely as a joke, as something that would easily be recognizable. If we have complaints will certainly stop sales."
Wow.
Regardless of what Aico thinks, Don Quijote confirmed on Monday they will stop selling the costumes.

During the viewing of the Grammy award ceremony, we witnessed Lady Gaga (if you could call her a lady) show the viewing audience her mostly bare behind, and frontal crotch area. I had children watching and do not appreciate what I would consider inappropriate dress…

Please fine them and compel whomever puts such smut on the television to make it viewable for people of all ages - and that includes commercials (so no Enzyte, feminine products, cheat on your spouse ads either) - or find some way to prevent shows like this from being aired on television at all.

The Grammy's 1st 3 acts were outlandish! Lady Gaga was barely covered below the belt! Her rear end was very exposed and that is inappropriate. Pink wore a nude suit, however you could see her tattoo's through the suit so I am apt to believe that you could see her rear end while dangling from the ceiling. Beyonce grabbed her crotch and proceeded to get down on her knees where her breast almost fall out of her dress…My children were watching this durning PRIME TIME and this is what they view. This is the 2nd time Lady (?) Ga Ga was allowed GaGa to expose her bare buttocks on TV. Ga Ga and Jewel both pushed the envelope last night and lost us a viewers. Clean it up or send um to an R rated station! Who's minding the store, before this stuff airs in 8 PM slot?
It's hard to take these complaints seriously when they don't know how to spell or even know who was actually performing.
