Bill Gaytten Will Stick Around At Dior For Six More Seasons

Filed Under: Marc Jacobs Christian Dior John Galliano Jil Sander

The head honchos at Christian Dior have finally made some sort of decision as to who will play creative director.

Rumor has it CEO Sidney Toledano was deep in talks with Raf Simons, but when the ex-Jil Sander creative director asked for too much money like Marc Jacobs, negotiations came to a screeching halt.

Instead of finding a replacement, Toledano took the easy way out and extended Bill Gaytten's contract for another six seasons.

Ugh. Why can't they pull the trigger already and make an actual decision?

If they're looking for another John Galliano they're not going to find it so why not just hire the man back already.

Was Raf Simons Fired From Jil Sander???

Filed Under: Fashion Smashion Jil Sander

raf-simons-reportedly-fired-from-jil-sander.jpg

Last week Raf Simons found himself unemployed after Jil Sander abruptly decided to return to her own label after eight years, but apparently there's more to the story than they're letting on.

WWD's Bridget Foley wrote on Tuesday Simons was "unceremoniously dumped" or to put it bluntly he was fired.

Ouch.

She goes on to say the situation was handled very poorly, especially by Jil Sander herself who fueled rumors while "strolling openly around Première Vision, and, when asked why by WWD Japan, responding that the announcement of her next project would come during the Milan collections."

How tacky!

We wonder what Raf has to say about this or if he'll plead the 5th.

Is Raf Simons Heading To Dior???

Filed Under: Fashion Smashion Marc Jacobs Christian Dior

raf-simons-in-talks-for-christian-dior-creative-director-position.jpg

Here we go again.

Now that Marc Jacobs is completely out of the picture, new reports say Raf Simons is in talks with Christian Dior to take over the yet-to-be-filled creative director position.

According to sources close to the situation, key details are still being hammered out with Simons, who recently extended his creative director contract with Jil Sander for an unspecified amount of time.

Hmm. We're not too sure about this one. To go from designing minimalist clothes at Jil Sander to romantic and girly ones at Dior seems like a stretch.

What do U think? Is Raf a good candidate???

Believe it or not there are a lot of designers who put their spin on the classic ugly Christmas sweater, but we have a feeling that wasn't their intention.

Check out some of the heinous designs in the gallery (below)!
