Plus Size Models Protest Aussie Fashion Week

Good for them!

After being shut out from this year's Rosemount Australian Fashion Week, plus-size models rallied together to stage a protest outside the event. The models wore shirts saying "I love my curves" and "We love real women".

Agent Darrianne Donnelly says the industry has taken a big step backwards from last year after 18 plus-size models took the runway.

Ouch!

Designer Alex Perry snapped "Nobody is going to tell me how to pick models."

What a douche!

Padded Bikinis For Little Girls

wenn23995852.jpg

With some racy, children's clothing lines being launched, parents are taking offense and demanding to stop sexualizing kids.

And if they were bothered before, people will be fuming mad now.

Turns out the British clothing chain Primark is selling padded bikini tops to little girls!!!

WTF?!?

The store is selling the padded tops for just £4. The swimsuits are targeted at 7 and 8-year-olds and are said to give kids a "breast shape" with their halterneck tops.

Several children's groups are protesting to have the swimsuits removed claiming it's aiding in making young girls targets for sickos.

One child protection consultant reveals:

“It never fails to amaze me just how many high street household names are now prepared to exploit the disgusting ‘paedophile pound’.

You should never sexualise children. Kids may be learning how to look sexy in an adult way but no one is teaching them what to do if they receive unwelcome robust adult attention.”

Thankfully Primark pulled the tops from their stores. Nice outcome, but why even sell them to begin with?

Thoughts???

J. Crew Discriminates Against Transgender Applicants?

Filed Under: Icky Icky Poo Fashion Smashion

ap060821023185_e.jpg

This is just awful!

Civil rights group Make the Road New York sent two subjects, one transgender and one not, to apply for jobs at 24 different stores.

Out of all the stores that were applied to J. Crew treated the potential transgender employee unfairly, but when it came to the other applicant they offered them the job.

After the results, the civil rights group staged a protest outside the company's Fifth Avenue store.

Also worth noting is Dean & Deluca was the only store to offer jobs to both applicants and Virgin Megastore only offered the job exclusively to the transgender subject.

Sad.

Danny Glover's Hugo Boss Boycott Successful!

Filed Under: Old People Fashion Smashion Awardz Hugo Boss

wenn2429587_e.jpg

It worked! Kind of.

As you may recall, Danny Glover asked Hollywood's A-List community to not wear Hugo Boss to the Academy Awards as a way of protesting the company's closing of their Cleveland, Ohio based plant.

And they listened!

Hugo Boss themselves said "…due to the recent boycott spearheaded by actor Danny Glover, our wardrobing efforts were significantly diminished for this year's Academy Awards."

Despite the small victory, the plant's 300 employees will still be losing their jobs come April.
