Pamela Anderson has her faults, but we didn't really see this weird side of her coming.
Looking a hot mess last Sunday at the Hollywood Style Awards, Pam made a peculiar spectacle walking down the red carpet: she had enlisted 9-year-old Adelaide Gault to carry the train of her Vivienne Westwood gown down the red carpet. Actually, the "fun," didn't stop there - the little lady carried Pammy's train the entire evening, following her backstage and then hours later when Pam left.
And, in a scene that conjures up memories of The Little Princess, one attendee says,
"She didn't even have her own seat and had to sit at Pamela's feet, where people nearly stepped on her to get to the stage. The girl looked uncomforatable and kept tugging on her dress to get her attention, but Pamela waved her away. Pamela was telling people it was her daughter. And, after she presented David LaChapelle with an award onstage, she shouted 'daughter!' in front of the whole auditorium, and slapped her leg like she was calling a puppy. The girl rushed up to grab her train."
We're sorry, we know this is horrible, but we can't help but giggle when we picture this scene. It's just too much!
It's strange that Pam would tell people that Adelaide is her daughter when we all know she's not. She's actually the daughter of Sharon Gault, a makeup artist who was working the event.
Why would she do this? Where was her publicist? How did she even think of this? Bringing kids to carry your dress and sit at your feet like a hand servant isn't exactly common practice these days.
And now the move is coming back to bite Pam in the poofy pink ass; child advocacy groups are incensed that Pam would mistreat a child so publicly.
A spokesperson for the Child Labor Coalition said, "I would want to speak to the child and ask her if it is something she willingly did. Nine is very young, and an awards ceremony is a long time for a child to be out holding a dress."
Poor Adelaide!
