Kate Gosselin is kicking off 2010 with a clean slate and apparently that meant getting extensions.

At first, the newly single Kate was reluctant about giving up her iconic reverse mullet look, but eventually she gave in.

According to celebrity hairstylist Ted Gibson, the guy responsible for putting in Kate's longer locks it took almost 20 HOURS to complete the mother of eight's makeover!

Dayum!

That's gotta rival Tyra Banks somehow!

Ted explains: “Bonding extensions to those little hairs really took time. But in all those hours, she didn’t complain once. She was so open to whatever I suggested, and willing to try just about anything.”

It was (probably) free! She had no grounds to complain!

While we didn't love how her new hair looked on the cover of People, the picture above makes it look better, with the help of a wind machine.

Not to mention she looks A LOT younger.

We hope she can maintain her new 'do. We don't want to get all Britney Spears on us!
