Gap Says Ciao! To Italy

Good news for the Italianos who like Gap & Banana Republic!

Both labels are slated to open in Milan's Corso Vittorio Emanuele as well as other Italian cities this year and Rome by 2011.

Gap's European and International Franchise President says of their expansion:

"We are excited to enter another market that's also one of the top five apparel markets in the world. With loyal shoppers already in London and Paris, we think Gap Inc.'s brands will strongly resonate with Italian customers."

The expansion announcement comes on the heels of Gap posting an impressive 45% earnings increase in the fourth-quarter.
