In an interview before his death, Alexander McQueen expressed how he would want his label to go on after he dies.
McQueen reveals to Love:
"I’m 40 now, but I want this to be a company that lives way beyond me, and I believe that customers are more important to making that happen than press. When I’m dead, hopefully this house will still be going. On a spaceship. Hopping up and down above the earth."
And that's exactly what the Gucci Group plans to do.

Hold your horses fashion world!
Despite rumors, Gareth Pugh will NOT be taking over the creative director role at Alexander McQueen.
In a statement, the designer denied the reports saying "Further to speculative reports, Gareth Pugh is not in discussions with Gucci Group about a creative director role at Alexander McQueen."
And there you have it.
We're eager to see who thinks they've got big enough creative cajones to fill those empty shoes.

Those Italians sure know how to hold a grudge.
Anna Wintour clones banned together to let the Vogue editor know they're upset over the Milan Fashion Week schedule being rearranged just for her.
The protesters gathered in Milan's Piazza Oberdan before the Gucci runway show complete with Anna bobs, oversized sunglasses and shirts that said "I Will Only Stay 3 Days".
While it's a nice attempt to get attention, we doubt the devil gives a flying focaccia about your wants and needs.

Could James Franco look any hotter?
The cutie is the face behind Gucci's latest fragrance, Gucci by Gucci Sport Pour Homme.
The label's first men's cologne, Gucci by Gucci Pour Homme, was launched back in 2008. But this time around, Gucci Sport will have a new "fresher and lighter fragrance" for those with an active lifestyle.
Gucci creative director Frida Giannini, reveals:
“The original fragrance was such a phenomenal success, but is actually quite dressy and formal in its spirit. I wanted to expand the story of the scent into a man’s free time and the more casual moments in his life.
I don’t necessarily link it literally with sports. It’s more a sporty state of mind. Meaning, off-duty time and the attitude that comes from being relaxed and carefree.”
The scent combines touches or grapefruit, mandarin, and cypress with warmer touches like fig, juniper berries, and cadamom among the others.
And with James Franco as the face for the campaign, how could it go bad.
Franco was photographed by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin in Cannes, France. Nice photos, but next time, go shirtless.

It's been a little over a week since the death of Alexander McQueen and in a weird twist the label has benefited from it. A lot.
Sales for McQueen's clothing have gone up 1,400%.
Wow.
While that may be good news for the Gucci Group, it's still sad.
