Madonna Will Design For Macy's & Much More!

wenn5407036_e.jpg

When we first heard whispers that Madonna would be designing a line of clothing at Macy's we were skeptical, but it seems like it's going to happen.

Today it was announced the Queen of Pop and manager Guy Oseary will join together with Iconix Brands to form MG Icon, LLC. Under the name Madge will be churning out many fashion related projects.

Upon the announcement Madonna said "Joining forces with Iconix to bring my fashion ideas to consumers is very exciting for me."

The first project will be a junior's line called Material Girl. The younger line will include everything from apparel, footwear, handbags and accesories, with the possibility of expanding into beauty and fragrances.

Not surprisingly, Madonna's 13 year old daughter, Lourdes is the muse for the collection. Jeff Gennette, chief merchandising officer at Macy's explains: "Lourdes has an incredible sense of style and her point of view on fashion has definitely been an inspiration for the line".

Material Girl will be hitting 200 stores in August with the possibility of reaching 850 in the future. Price points for the line are actually very affordable, ranging from $12 to $40.

Aside from the Macy's line, MG Icon is expected to announce another collaboration with a designer label for a line of branded eyewear.

Kenneth Cole Teaming Up With Macy's

Kenneth Cole is slowly expanding. This time they've signed on to do a special collection available only at Macy's.

The collection, which will also include knit and woven shirts aimed at a younger crowd, will debut in Macy's stores and online.

And starting this September, Macy's will be the only store in the U.S. which will carry Kenneth Cole Reaction men's sportswear.

Says designer Kenneth Cole:

"With the launch of the new Reaction men's sportswear line, we have the opportunity to build on the proven success of the brand.

We will be able to enhance our relationship not just with Macy's, but with our many loyal and supportive customers."

Macy's chairman and CEO added:

"Kenneth Cole is a name that is synonymous with updated style, and is recognized and preferred by many of our customers. Reaction will be a significant asset to our men's store."

We're still waiting to see Madonna's line at Macy's.

Madonna Designing For Macy's???

wenn5407069_e.jpg

We're not sure we believe this.

Madonna is reportedly in talks to create a contemporary women’s collection with a group of licensees that would be sold exclusively at Macy’s.

Does the Queen of Pop even shop at Macy's?

Nothing's been confirmed or denied by reps for Madge and Macy's, but names for the labels are already in the works. One possibility for the apparel line is "Material Girl" and "Truth or Dare" for a lingerie and underwear collection.

Kind of predictable, don't you think?

In theory this sounds like an alright idea, however we just don't see this happening.

Madonna's still got a couple of years before she has to head to a department store to make money. Besides, Macy's just exactly seem like Madge's thing.

Would U want to see a Madonna collection at Macy's???

Marc Jacobs Doesn't Want Celebs Near His Runway

au-977664_e.jpg

While most shows don't want the Jersey Shore kids littered around the runway, Marc Jacobs doesn't even want real celebrities at his show.

He explains, "I'm not into the celebrity thing . . . like we used to. That's boring."

Last season he did make an exception for Lady GaGa, but that was only because she was performing at his party.

Marc also reveals that another celeb came announced last season, but wasn't invited.

"One was Madonna. She came backstage, and I was like, 'What do you do with her now?' Because it's not like she was invited. She just called and said she was coming, and we weren't holding the show for her. She just came, and that was it. There are certain things I can't control."

Madge, a fashion show crasher? Loves it!

However, if celebs are dying to see Marc's latest collection, they can watch it on the internet like all the other minions.

Even Madonna Can't Escape Photoshop!

Check out these before and after pictures of Madonna in Louis Vuitton's Fall 2009 ad campaigns.

Obviously they took photoshopping to a whole other level with these, but still the retouching is insane!

Just goes to show you that no matter how much money Madge throws down on anti-aging products, even she needs a little touch up (or a lot).
